Nominated as one of America’s Best Classic Courses, North Shore Country Club is nestled on secluded rolling hills overlooking the Long Island Sound, just 25 miles from New York City. In fact, little has changed from the original Seth Raynor and Charles B. Macdonald 1916 design. With a course rating of 72.4 and slope of 134, our members find this bent grass course well rounded and suitable for all levels of play. Rolling hills, steep spacious fairways and undulating greens are just some of the course highlights. The diversity of the layout focuses your play on strategic shot selection and ball placement -- adding a level of complexity not seen on many courses. Offering both easy and challenging approaches to the green, everyone can be at home on North Shore’s 18.

Built during the golden era of golf, North Shore has been home to some of the greatest players of all time. Bobby Jones, Chick Evans, and Fred Wright were among the Americans playing North Shore during the co-hosted 1920 US Amateur Championship with Lord Charles Hope and Cryil Tolley representing the British. The US Amateur, the Long Island Amateur, MGA Open, and MGA Senior, as well as several Women’s Amateur tournaments have been hosted here.

Our course always has tee times available and is home to many intra-club tournaments and club-events throughout the season. Two driving ranges, 2 putting greens and the chipping area are available to sharpen and improve all facets of your game. The Golf Professional staff is available to schedule your tournament sign ups, lessons, or clinics. A full time Caddy Master manages our member tee times and will even arrange games for you.
